What Our Clients Say

What Physicians Say About Working With Doc Wealth

“If I knew about Doc Wealth I would’ve made more money and kept more money in my pocket... The CPA Team has been very hands on in setting up my LLC, Payroll, and Tax strategies...”
DADr. AJClient review on docwealth.com
“I interviewed four groups and found them affordable, knowledgeable, and approachable... They helped me set up payroll with GUSTO, provided excellent bookkeeping templates, and maximized my deductions. They're responsive, helpful, and a huge upgrade from my last CPA.”
DADr. AnsariClient review on docwealth.com
“They are solely focused on physicians, and I think many of us are K1 and or 1099... I'm generally not a fan of CPAs, and had such a hard experience with my last one, but so far it's gone very well for me.”
DLDr. LedvinaClient review on docwealth.com
“Doc Wealth has taken a unique approach to disrupting an industry that has long been known for poor communication and lack of proactive planning... Their tech platform streamlines the entire process from communication to educational content to tax filing.”

Is This You?

Who Is This For?

Who This Is For:

  • You're a physician paid on 1099s or K-1s: locum tenens, emergency, hospitalist or telemedicine contracts.
  • Your net 1099 income is $400K or more a year.
  • You file as a sole proprietor or a single-member LLC, or your S-corp election came late.
  • Your CPA files your return in April, but nobody plans with you before December 31st.
  • You guess your quarterly estimates, or you've been hit with underpayment penalties.
  • You pick up shifts in more than one state.
  • You want one team running the planning, payroll and filing so you can keep seeing patients.

This Is Not For:

  • W-2 employed physicians with no 1099 or K-1 income.
  • Residents and fellows still in training.
  • 1099 physicians earning well under $400K a year.
  • Real estate investors with no 1099 or practice income.
  • Anyone who only wants a return filed once a year with no planning.

What We've Delivered

Two 1099 physicians from the representative engagements Doc Wealth publishes on its own site.

of 1099 income moved into an S-corp
Was a sole proprietorHad a generalist CPA

This physician switched from a sole proprietorship and a generalist CPA to Doc Wealth. We implemented the S-corp election, a Solo 401(k) plus cash balance plan stack and a state pass-through entity tax election.

We moved the work into a single LLC with an S-corp election, built a multi-state filing protocol and set up quarterly projections. That combination eliminated the chronic underpayment penalties.

100% Done-For-You

Here's Everything We Do For You

How Doc Wealth's CPAs, Enrolled Agents and tax attorneys run your taxes all year.

We Review Your Last Two Returns

Your team reviews your last two filed returns, your entity, your retirement plans and the states you work in, then pinpoints what's costing you before anything changes.

We Set Up Your S-Corp

Where an S-corp makes sense, we file the election, document a reasonable salary for your specialty, set up your Gusto payroll and manage your payroll and distributions.

We Open Your Retirement Plans

Where a Solo 401(k) and a cash balance plan make sense, we get them opened before December 31st and calculate your contributions, so more income stays off this year's bill.

We Calculate Your Quarterlies

We work out each quarterly estimated payment from your real income, not a guess, so you stop overpaying ahead of time or getting hit with underpayment penalties later.

We File Every Return

Our team prepares your business return, your personal return and every state return, so the people who designed your plan are the same team that puts it on your return.

Your Team Stays Reachable

When you pick up a new contract or a new state, you message your CPA, Enrolled Agent or accountant through our platform, and basic notice response is part of the service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to replace my CPA?+
Most physicians who come to us already have a CPA. Because we prepare the returns too, if you move over you end up with one team handling the planning and the filing. Switching partway through the year is the most common time clients come to us, and we request your prior returns and source documents from your current firm. You don't need to tell your CPA anything before our call.
Is it too late to change anything for this year?+
Starting in October gives us fewer options than starting in January, but it's never too late to start. A Solo 401(k) or a cash balance plan has to exist before December 31st to help this year's return, and in most cases the contributions can go in later, up to your filing deadline. On the call we separate what can still happen this year from what we set up for 2027.
What if I missed the S-corp election deadline?+
The normal window is the first 2 months and 15 days of the tax year, so the 2027 election is due March 15th. If the window passed, the IRS has a relief process for late elections, but it only applies if you meet specific conditions. We check whether it's worth pursuing for this year or whether we set it up cleanly for next year.
Who actually does the work?+
A dedicated team, not one person. Tax attorneys lead the structuring decisions, CPAs run the returns, quarterly projections and payroll, and Enrolled Agents carry the IRS representation credential. Every planning meeting is run by your tax leader, never a junior, and your taxes are handled in house by a US-based team.
I work shifts in several states. Can you handle that?+
Yes. We split your income across every state you worked in and prepare each state return. Missing states are one of the gaps we regularly see in physician returns prepared elsewhere, and for one locum hospitalist we built a four-state filing protocol.
What does it cost?+
It's a flat annual fee, quoted up front before you commit. Our published 1099 package starts at $4,799 a year and includes your planning, your individual return and 2 state returns, while an S-corp return, extra states and payroll setup are priced separately. You'll get your exact number on the call.
What happens after I sign up?+
We send a short engagement letter and a secure portal request for your last two filed returns and basic income documents. Within 3 to 4 weeks, your team has reviewed your full tax picture and scheduled your first planning session. From there, they put the plan in place and manage it through the year.
When do I actually see the savings?+
The savings land when your return is filed, because that's where the S-corp, the retirement contributions and the deductions show up. That's why the moves with hard deadlines, like opening retirement plans before December 31st, come first.
One Last Step

Want To See Whether $40K In Savings Is There For You This Year?

On the strategy call, Mark looks at how your 1099 income reaches you, your entity, your retirement plans and the states you worked in. You'll leave knowing whether $40K or more is within reach and which moves still count before December 31st.
